Hi,

Which types of brush(es) should I be using for doing my drawings on either
the hanshita paper, mino-gami, usu-mino or yamashiro papers (for pasting
onto the block)? I've tried steel pen nibs with sumi ink but it seems to
pull up the fibers too much. I can't find any such brushes in the Baren
mall. Or should I be using some other type of pen?

Thanks for any info.

I was wondering if using an adhesive backed Mylar sheet in place of hanshita
paper - by drawing on Mylar with ink, fixing it face down onto the block and
cutting right through the Mylar into the block would be a good alternative
to hanshita paper?

DS,
I think traditionally the image is printed on this paper and glued to the second block. I would try sumi ink and a tiny watercolor brush if you want to paint your first block. Anyone else have an idea? Dave Bull xeroxes his drawings onto this paper by adhearing it with removable spray glue to a carrier sheet. You can see this process on his site...I will hunt for the url for you.
