Charles

If a YURT is made for NOMADS with sheep, then can I still bring a YURT with me to Sharrie's Summit?????? I have 2 cats.

Yes, yes, yes, we must have it when David Bull is available. A Summit without David would be like Laurel without Hardy. Now you can tell how old I am.
I would like to thank Sharri for allowing us to use her facilities. That is so generous of her.
And hey, people, we should kick in a goodly fee for this.

Thanks Sharri, really looking forward to meeting with all the Bareners again.

Just great. So I move to the east coast and away from the NW and NOW you
want to have summit out in the west. Sorry, I donšt think Išll be able to
make this one either.

The good news is that I finally started cutting on a block for my next
exchange image. I think it has been nearly a year since I last worked on a
woodcut. I did do some linoleum prints in between (my christmas card was 260
prints in two colors) and also printed a woodcut on Rives BFK (not to be
done very often). So I am glad to be back in the art making mood.

Clearbags is pretty good. However, I saw no indication that the
product has archival quality, I use stuff from bagsunlimited.com.

Carol Lyons--- i think i will use your suggestion to take my show
to other venues it suits my style quite well and the idea of being able
to slip a print out to sell is perfect --
-i am presently taking pics of my woodcut show with my own 35mm camera
while the Univ of ME Machias figures out why
their digital camera wont function, perhaps its too cold !!
-a trickle of sales is starting to occur
which is unheard of in February
creating $ for me and also for the local framer
many ideas and directions to follow keep popping up
i encourage everyone to put together a show
very stimulating
especially in February

Mike Lyon- thanks so much for the link to the Beijing Bird show
very exciting and no fee !
i will definetley be sending work

the max size 1600mm is what, in inches ?

1.6 meters is about 5 feet, isn't it?

Thanks Sharri, I had planned to come last time and that was when my husband,
Jack, got sick so I couldn't. This time I'm in! I will help anyway I can.
Our Los Angeles Bareners have not gotten together in a while so maybe it's
time for us to reunite again, this time in Oregon and the Summit sounds like
a great way to do it. The LA people still showing up on the Baren Forum are
Ruth Leaf, Bobbie Mandel and georgia and myself and of course our favorite
visitor, Maria Arango. Am I missing anyone? I realize we've been doing
"The Year Of the ...... Exchange for six years. I love getting a wonderful
monkey and rooster on the same day. Thank you Bareners! Bea Gold

Mike,

Thanks for that heads up and link to the Bird International 2005.
Maybe if some of us Baroners entered woodcuts, we could elicit some Chinese
members? Just a thought...

Either I am more excited about the summit than I thought, or more
tired. The message about an exhibition at North Bank Gallery after the
summit was supposed to go to Maurice Fykes. I just got up, but I think
I'd better go back to bed. But, the idea of an exhibition of the
participants work in the gallery might be a good idea. Maybe everyone
brings a piece to hang - we probably won't do anything worth hanging at
the summit - we're much too busy learning new tricks and trying
everything out.

Cheers!

Hi Bea,
Gilda Zimmerling here in Los Angeles , We meet briefly a couple years ago,
you were kind enough to have everyone over for a workshop. I came to say Hi
but was unable to stay. If the LA people ever get together again I would
love to meet all of you.
