I attended a planning committee meeting for the SGC conference last night,
and brought up the idea of baren members doing a demo of woodblock
printmaking. So, for those of you who are interested in doing it, if you
can get together and write up a proposal and send it in by the end of July,
it will be considered along with the other proposals for demos and
workshops. Let me know if you want to do it.
Shireen

2 out of 5 correct (but 5 out of 5 on my second go!)
I should have got 3 out of 5, still kicking myself for an "obvious" oversight.

Bareners,
Anyone who is interested in helping with this send me an email off list and we will get a little organization to this idea. If we get 5 or 6 people interested we can do this, I would rather a little workshop than a booth as if we go all the way to DC it would be nice to have time to see all the rest of the convention. A workshop only takes a few hours and would leave the rest of the time free. Lets do a proposal on this. Who can go to DC and help do a little workshop demo? I can go, but my woodblock skills are nothing like some of you other people.....but of course better than a beginner. Amanda and April have expressed some interest, anyone else out there who wants to promote water based traditional printing ?
Best to all,
Barbara

Hi,
I will be having an exhibit and slide/lecture in NYstarting this Saturday

Here is the info:

TOO ADVANCED FOR CONNECTICUT. The exhibit "From Watercolors to
Loopomania--Too Advanced For
Connecticut" by New York artist Carol Lyons will feature her art works from
realism to Loopomania, July 17-Aug 5, Mon, Wed, Fri 10-6, Tues, Thurs 10-8,
Sat 1-5.

In conjunction with the exhibit the artist will give a slilde/lecture on
the range and progression of her works. Thurs, July 22 , 6-8 p.m. Donnell

I am looking forward to this with excitement! (On a psychological test there
would be no doubt of whether to vote for #1, 2, 3, 4, or 5!)

The exhibit will be in 6 locked panels at the entrance-- 3 panels with
watercolors and 3 with Loopomania prints.
The slide/lecture is the part that will include woodblock prints. And also
explanation of where "Too Advanced for Connecticut" came from.

Best to all
Carol

Carol, That's Great! As a New York buddy I'll be there. What a contentious
