Congratulations Mike - a beautiful article and, of course, work!

Ahhh, a different kettle of fish - I guess they are not going to like
any of my handy ideas for what to do with old wood blocks. I don't
know that much about lino - but I don't think they would make very good
backsplashes & furniture - LOL

my fav. wood blocks end up on my wall. I ink um up and build a frame for
them. I am more fond of the carving than the printing which is ok since it
takes so much longer to carve than to print anyway.

Hi,

I was so happy to recieve the Lefties Can Carve Prints, and sent by our new
member, Harry French from England.

Thank you Harry!

And will you others beat the deadline , too?

Where is Alain Cislaghi? Last I heard, leaving on a bicycle from Beijing
heading for Hong Kong.

In reference to the old blocks, and I'm no expert but...
clean them only if the 'grooves' seen filled with ink, some sort of
turp/low odor mineral spirits for oil base inks,,,, normally soaking,
and a soft scrub brush, for water base inks, but without knowing the
level of deterioration, I wouldn't soak. Simple green and a old
toothbrush?
Next if really falling apart, I would try to adhere to a thin sheet of
plexi, rubber cement down, or a special epoxy for plexi? Then clean
them, once they're on a stable backing,,, good luck .

Hi. I am writing to say I am back in Washington after a long drive from the
Baja. Saw Maria in Henderson Nevada, where it was hot. she was the
featured artist in a large art festival and her work looked magnificent.
Seems she is busy selling a lot of those thick slices.
My thanks to the coordinator of the mini print exchange, it is beautiful.
My thanks to Julio who sent along the calendars I ordered and exchanged for,
they are wonderful. Julio you really outdid yourself with a lot of very
hard work, hope you had enough funds to cover the project, it is truly a
wonderful thing to display. Oh and last but not least my new Baren arrived,
thank you mall manager Barbara Mason for getting my order processed. I am
overwhelmed by how lovely this Baren is and can't wait to try it on paper.
WOW!!! Have both regular mail and email to read to last a week and still
have bags to unpack so by for now.
