Hello, I would like to thankyou very much for your wonderful posts! When I first signed up, I wasn't sure which post I would need (list or from .asahi-net) so I signed up for both. The new list posting is wonderful but having both posts sent to my inbox is a little overwhelming so please remove me from this posting. Thanks so much!

Baren Mall update !!!!

We have had someone want to buy a gift certificate for a "friend" on the mall so we have set up a system to do this.....it is on the mall map page, here:

http://www.barenforum.org/mall/map.html

So if you want your family and friends to send you one for Christmas, here is your chance! Just give them a big hint! We will send a code to make it work for the recepient and it will be just like spending someone else's money, actually it will be just like that.

Also on another note we just received a shipment of Yamaguchi paper. We were out of it for several weeks. The dollar has been going nuts up and down, but think we are holding the price on this pretty well.

The cases are going up to $30 on the next exchange, sorry about this but we cannot sell stuff for less than we pay for it. We know you are gritting your teeth but understand.

We are doing our best to keep things as reasonable as possible. If we could only do someting about the cost of air freight we would be happy campers all around.
Best to all,
Barbara, mall manager

In case you are wondering...No, those are not the winning numbers in the
Barenforum.org daily lotto grand prize for December 8th....but rather the
numbers left in stock of each type of Calendar 2004 items. Obviously we
would like to find a good home for ALL these wonderful prints. They would
make a very original and unique gift for that someone in your life who
enjoys art and/or printmaking. Perhaps as a gift to that special family
member or friend who appreciates & supports your art but does not have
quite the right "wall' space or decor to go along with your type of
work.... ;-)

http://www.barenforum.org/calendar/

Orders are been filled now. Calendar mailing will start later this week
and the calendars should arrive at your door with plenty of time for Xmas
delivery to your loved ones. Please pass the word around and let your
friends now of this opportunity to purchase some original handprinted
works.

FYI and resume-alert for participating artists in the Calendar project:
Barenforum.org has set aside one complete set of Calendars to be archived
at the Spencer Museum of Art in Lawrence, Kansas. Our thanks to Steve
Goddard and a warm Baren welcome to their new Asian dept curator Maria
Roman Novaro.

thanks...Julio Rodriguez (Skokie, Illinois)

ps. The magic numbers: 3 Landscapes, 5 Nudes, 10 Postcard A, 12 Full-Page,
17 Postcard B

Hi all,
Here is a little blurb from the Print Alliance....
Best to all,
Barbara

Dear council members,

I've been contacted by a young law clerk at the Library of Congress who is conducting a survey as part of research on the Visual Artists Rights Act of 1990 (VARA) . The survey results will be analyzed in an article to be submitted to the American Intellectual Property Law Association Quarterly Journal, with a summary/highlights promised to the American Print Alliance. Please, please take ten minutes before December 31 to respond at http://www.demodulate.net/users/varasurvey/. Your responses will be invaluable in gauging the impact of VARA and you might learn something about your rights as a visual artist. You can also learn a lot about copyright and VARA at the American Print Alliance website: go to Advocacy and Professional Practices in the Resources section of www.PrintAlliance.org - but fill in the survey first!

Thank you.

Dr. Carol Pulin, director, American Print Alliance non-profit consortium of printmaker's councils
