Baren Digest Friday, 31 October 2003 Volume 25 : Number 2426 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Chris Blank Date: Thu, 30 Oct 2003 14:38:17 -0800 (PST) Subject: [Baren 23273] introducing yourself Hi, My Name is Chris Blank, I'm not exactly new, I have been in several exchanges before, but took a 1 1/2 years off to finish a large mural commission, 4 panels 25'x6' 6 ' off the ground. I haven't been responding abunch yet, I'm still trying to finish the other projects I volenteered for (that have been consuming my time) My new word is "NO". As in "No, I don't want to be vice president of education for Art Educators of Arlington." For those who don't remember me my full name is Christina Blank, I work as a Art Teacher in Arlington Texas. I work with a number of Art Societies/ committees around here to help promote the arts. And now I'm trying to get back to my own art, Printing being my favorite. I really enjoy reading the posts and learning. One of my current goals is to listen more than to talk, I have a tendancy to run on. But I will try to pipe up more. I'm really excited about the next exchange #19, I have so many good Ideas, I'm just trying to pare it down. Thank you for introducing yourself. I respect your self discipline in keeping with your goals. I too work better with goals. For a long time I was a lurker. I saved so many postings on every subject imagineable, that I now own my 'own' archives! But you know what? When I attended the Baren Summit in June this year, I felt like I knew these wonderful people for years. This is by far, 'the' best group ever. Feel free to chime in whenever you want. I'm still a beginner and am learning along the way. I'm in love with moku-hanga. Don't tell my husband! I'm very interested in your huge mural. I airbrushed a mural back in the late 80's - about 25' x 6'. What a 'rush' of experience. What was your subject matter, media, and canvas? Mine was in a mess hall on the wall for the Air National Guard! It consisted of 3 panels - East coast lighthouse and coastline, Midwest with A-7 Corsiar jets and the Des Moines capital building, West coast with the Grand Canyon. Again...a warm welcome to Baren! Tell us more about your printmaking interests! I'll be looking forward to reading your posts.
