We have a deal with Starbucks, they give us coffee for our meetings and we give them artwork for their walls. Actually we no longer get the coffee as found no one wanted coffee at 3 in the afternoon when it was 100 degrees outside. At any rate, we are very pleased to be able to hang work in their store. I have to tell you that after seeing Michael Schneider's work and after what Mike said about doing them in woodblock, I am thinking of trying it. It sounds like a real challenge to print it in reverse of an etching, with the dark on top and the white recesssed. If I ever get one I like, I will send it to Mike! In trying to stop this annoying thing, I have inadvertently blocked just about everything. Many names of Baren people have surfaced on the blocked list (still do not know how this happened) so could not get e mails from Maria, Barbara, Carol L and some others on Baren. Seems I must have blocked the whole Baren list. I was just blocking the Spam. What a headache. I'm really looking forward to the day that I get it all adjusted just right! REally tired of looking through 300 to 400 spams per day! Wanda >Dear Bareners > >Have struggled with my Spam to no avail. Maybe it's because the only listserves I'm on are Baren and Baren/After Five--which will change pretty soon when I join some job-related listerves. Maybe it's my email provider, which is Earthlink. Earthlink does have a spam blocker, which I keep set on "medium". (When I had it set on "high" the baren listserve postings got trapped in the "suspect email" file.) Periodically I go in and check the items filtered into the spam file, but there never are very many of them. Weird. Margaret M. We're thinking of switching over to our local phone company. In my area Earthlink cannot provide high speed internet access. A total disappointment. I thought Earthlink was suppose to be this huge, great provider. I also get none on comcast, but I have had that email for a short time. I used to get hundreds of spam a day, then I set the spam blockers on outlook express and that got most of them. However, I lost this program, hard to believe but true. It is missing something and I cannot seem to download a new version, it just sends me in a loop. I am such a novice, it is beyond me. If I did not have Dave to help with the mall, it would be trouble with a capital T. Solarplates...you are a very versatile printmaker. I did have trouble opening some of the name files including Wanda's. >Am I the only one who didn't know that all of our Baren mail is >available on the net?? Went to look something up and found that I can read all my >past mail by punching in b.patera .....same for everyone else I checked.... >all I needed was an e-mail name. I guess I'm feeling a mite paranoid .... >but we do put alot of information out there. Scarey, scarey stuff!! It is no wonder all the spam stuff gets through so easily and when you try to bounce the junk it just comes back "undeliverable"! I am so pleased that my new computer has a "Junk" folder that doesn't come through with my personal mail and it is so powerful to be able to hit the Delete File button!!!!
