old engravers used to put the monograme or initials on there tools just for 
that reason old engraving studio  50 engravers  50 sets of tools  all most all 
of my old engraving tools have monagrames  etc

I am arriving in Kansas City. terminal C at 12:32  PM, United flight 1524.  
Carol and I arranged to meet at the car rental counter. I will carry an 
American flag and will tape a paper tag below the flag with BAREN and my 
name on it.  Carol has kindly agreed to get me to the studio from the 
airport. Looking forward to a great week of culture and fun.

I have been trying to reach Carol about meeting me at the airport but have
been unable to get to her.
I am coming in at 1;30 from Delta. If you are meeting her at the Rental Car
desk, I will be there too, but it might be close to 2, since I will have to
go pick up my luggage and I am in terminal B. Are you meeting her in
terminal C, cause there must be lots of Car Rental desks.

It is so hard to be sitting at home, wishing I, too, could be boarding 
a flight to Kansas.  My youngest son is graduating from high school 
next week so I'll be with you only in my thoughts.

Here's wishing all of you the best for a week filled with woodblock, 
friendship and fun.  I'll stay tuned for detailed reports.

Just received my prints in the mail! Another success for
Baren--the prints just keep getting better Thanks so much,
Sharen, for coordinating the exchange! And thanks to all
the participants for the hours of work on a set of great
prints. Feels like Christmas!!!

Going in for carpal tunnel surgery, so I won't be carving for a while

It's a little scary, but after going through the pain and
numbness, and loss of strength in my grip for the past eight
years, I'm ready for some relief.&nbsp; I've tried everything
imaginable to keep going, but it's time. I appreciated the
discussion a few weeks ago on carpal tunnel and carving.
It's good to know there are others out there who are dealing with
similar circumstances.

Have a great time at the Summit.  Wishing I could join in. Maybe next time.

Kent, I don't know what time John Furr is picking up people.  Jim (my 
husband) is picking up Marco Marinucci and Frank Trueba at baggage in 
Terminal A around 4:45 or shortly thereafter.  We don't have a van, but 
if I stay behind at studio (or hotel), then you could be part of that 
ride from the airport.  Let us know.  We're leaving here at the crack of 
dawn Friday, so get back to us.
