Does anyone have any advice on the suitability of mounting them on Stonehenge? A friend has offered me the use of a corner rounder, and I am crossing my fingers that I can use it properly. also, what about the possibility of laminating them to protect the print? Or would this negate the aesthetics of the project? Any and all comments on this topic would be most appreciated. For some reason, majordomo seems to think that Maria doesn't belong to us - she does! I'll have to go investigate now. Meanwhile here is her message(5/26/03 8:49 am): Treat them as a relief carving. I clean them, sometimes I have to recarve some parts so the raw wood will show, otherwise I just paint them with wood-colored acrylic to bring the wood color back. Then I sign them with a v-chisel or dremmel, ink them, let them dry, stick'em to a piece of raw wood as a background or something similarly pretty. Then I put them in a nice frame, if you can, frame a print along side and call them a conversation piece. I cancel them by pouring a polyurethane resin over the whole thing, mat, print and all, although I've been told some people liked the wood "raw." I just don't want to take the risk of someone printing from them; some artists that come to art festivals have threatened to do such a thing, print t-shirts? Insanity. Put a high price tag on them, like an original painting. They sell like hotcakes. My first printmaking passion is intaglio, but woodblock has always fascinated me and I'd like to try it out. Right now I'm in need of a small press (Conrad 15") to use in the interm. I tried to order a press today actually and was told it's a 4 mo wait for delivery. Is this normal? Geez, I wish I knew! www.aguavisual.com is a portfolio of work that could use a little updating! :) Thanks-Looking forward to getting to know folks here!
