Baren Digest Sunday, 25 May 2003 Volume 23 : Number 2233 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- From: G Wohlken Date: Sat, 24 May 2003 11:16:34 -0400 Subject: [Baren 21576] sloppy borders on prints Julio, you mention putting tape in the margins of your carved block to keep the slopped up areas from printing onto the paper. With hanga how do you have time to do this without the ink drying out before you print? I can see this would work with oil-based inks because of how long they stay moist. But with hanga you have to move so fast I can't see how you have time to tape anything. Also, how does tape stick to the wet borders of the board? Hmmm, that is a very interesting solution and it just might work. A black border would hide all my sins! If that doesn't work I can still cut them down and put them on the right size paper. Thanks! I think it is probably too late for LPE II, there will be some eager beavers already to print on that one, but it's not too late for suggestions for LPE III. I'm off to cut a border! And, apparently that is what I had with the Queen of Hearts. When I started to cut them down I measured the wrong side of the CD case. After checking with the website I found that I had, indeed, made the little darlings the right size to cut down for a bleed. Whew. I thought I was losing it all there for a few moments, and come to find out, I'd only lost a little bit. So, all is well in card land tonight. But, thanks to all of you who offered solutions - I'll save them for when I need them, if I can remember them when the time comes :-/ Cheers, Sharri ------------------------------ End of Baren Digest V23 #2233 *****************************
