If tearing papers with long fibers as in unru that don't tear evenly, lay the 
tear bar ( heavy straight edge) on the paper then run a small wet watercolor 
brush along the edge of the ruler before tearing.

Hello everyone, this is your Calendar-2004 coordinator with a reminder 
that we now have about  four and a half months till the prints are due 
(September 15, 2003).....if you are participating please check for your 
name below and make a note of the mailing address and other pertinent 
information. Unlike regular exchanges were dropouts don't have an impact, 
on the calendar project dropping out means someone else has to step up to 
the plate to fill the gap....so let's get going and creating, designing, 
carving and printing !!!!!

PAGE Calendar - Open Theme (40 prints needed) 7.5"Width X 10"Height (image 
orientation along the vertical or height), please leave approx. 1" open at 
top edge for binding. Please stick to this paper dimension to avoid 
discrepancy and possible trimming.

Subject: [Baren 21414] another question 



hi everyone
   i just finished carving and printing a new block and ive discovered that 
the surface of it is uneven   i didnt see it until i ran the print    im 
thinking of sanding the surface a bit and i wondered if anyone here has done 
this?   i was thinking of even adding a swirl effect to enhance the print
  im also going to attempt another hanga print and i dont mind telling you 
all that im apprehensive to say the least   i wish i had bea ruth maria dave 
and a few others here to look over my shoulder   (yes i know   thats silly)   
my question here is   im on a very limited budget and i thought for now i 
would use my tube watercolors  but later i want to try both the akua colors 
and guerra pigments   if i could only buy maybe 3 colors of each what would 
you all suggest?   i want to be able to mix the colors too
hope im not being a pest here

Hi Ruth.....congratulations !!!!!  you can send the calendar-2004 prints 
to the address below...please include with the prints a small amount to 
cover return shipping of the completed calendar, they will probably go out 
USP for about $3-$4.00.
