Baren Digest Saturday, 4 May 2002 Volume 19 : Number 1818 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- From: "Bea Gold" Date: Fri, 3 May 2002 06:32:26 -0700 Subject: [Baren 18002] Re: Sakura Matsuri Thanks April, Sounds like a wonderful day. Today your Elderhostel student will be sharing some of your lessons with some LA Baren folks. Gilda Zimmerling will be coming by and Bobbie Mandel and georga garside will be playing hanga. I hope by the end of the day the Moku Hanga mystique will become a little less mysterious. We will let you know how it goes. Please email me if you are interested in meeting at my San Francisco Bay Area house some time this summer (after bootcamp, of course) for a Baren Hanga workshop. You can see a little slice of the Bay, including the Golden Gate Bridge, from my front yard. Bea is first on my list. It will be a good reason to clean the house (I'll be having ProArts Open Studio the first and second weekend in June, so I'll have to vacuum the house for that late in May.) Maybe we could do outdoor Hanga printmaking, for a new twist on the old subject. How could we do that? Thanks to all I've learned from April and Baren members on the forum. Gilda came over - she is real and she and georga were aquatinted through Self Help Graphics. Bobbie and georga practiced on my new wood cut and I think it helped to see how printing changed from too much or too little paste and paint and from too dry wood to more saturated. We didn't get to Ruth's today but made a date to go there in July. Yes, Bette Wappner for meeting in other places like Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, Tennessee... and Jean in San Francisco. Let's all plan to meet next year in Kansas City. What fun that should be. Bea Gold ------------------------------ End of Baren Digest V19 #1818 *****************************
