Baren Digest Thursday, 18 October 2001 Volume 17 : Number 1590 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- From: GraphChem@aol.com Date: Wed, 17 Oct 2001 09:48:38 EDT Subject: [Baren 15988] Re: Baren Digest V17 #1583 It shouldn't surprise people that Graphic Chemical will be at SGC too. I'd be disappointed if Baren members didn't stop by and at least say hello. I've just gotten word that there will be a very large print created at Print Gumbo - - printed with a steam roller. Anyone interested in participating or getting more info should contact John Scott at Xavier University in New Orleans. Contact him at jtscott@xula.edu for more information. It was good to see some of you in Portland last week - to renew some friendships and to meet others for the first time face to face. I did use damp paper with no problems. The plates are hardened with uv light after sensitizing and washing out with water. They will keep for a long time, wiped down with baby oil and stored in the dark away from light. I am going to use them for awhile and will post info after I work with them...they are so different from woodblock and linoblock that there is no comparison. But I will let everyone know eventually how I like them. Barbara > are solor plates different from polamer plates? pol. plates don't work well > with water based ink or damp paper. ------------------------------ End of Baren Digest V17 #1590 *****************************
