Baren Digest Saturday, 13 October 2001 Volume 17 : Number 1585 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Graham Date: Fri, 12 Oct 2001 07:54:46 -0700 Subject: [Baren 15928] From the mouths of Babes. >Graham, grow up. Dear Maria, I have given much thought to your motherly advise and after several days and malting it over in my mind, even double malting with Glen Fiddick, I wish to thank you, but will not take your advise. Do any of the Baren members want it .... it's free!!!! The reason for refusing your little gem is that all my life I have been encouraged to think young and to maintain a sense of humour which would put me in good stead to remain youthful as I grow older. So, as I am now pushing 70 year young, I chose not to change directions and although it is a known adage that from the mouths of babes comes wisdom, I believe in this case the wisdom is ill conceived and so will let it pass. Thanks again for you thoughtful input..... Sincerely, Grampa ------------------------------ From: Sunnffunn@aol.com Date: Fri, 12 Oct 2001 12:52:39 EDT Subject: [Baren 15929] Re: Baren Digest V17 #1584 John do you have a deadline or cut off date for these firemen prints? This is an indoor Fine Art Festival of quality (so I'm told! [:-)] where you can view (ahem, and I quote) "225 of America's best contemporary craftspeople and fine artists offering 15,000 original works." You may want to visit and find out if this is a potential venue for your prints. I would love to meet any northern Californians in Baren. Also in San Francisco, Marco Flavio Marinucci is having his Open Studio October 20th and 21st, 11-6, 30 Russell Street (at Hyde). He will be showing his "At Home Far Away" portrait series. He didn't pay me anything to announce this, but he sent me a nice postcard. You can preview Marco's work at his website: http://www.athomefaraway.com Come on out for an art-filled weekend! Maria PS Anyone know if the Bay Bridge is open for traffic to vehicles with trailers? I would appreciate any local traffic info to avoid delays. <><><><><><><><><><><><><><> Maria Arango Las Vegas, Nevada, USA http://www.1000woodcuts.com maria@mariarango.com <><><><><><><><><><><><><><> ------------------------------ From: ArtfulCarol@aol.com Date: Fri, 12 Oct 2001 20:15:33 EDT Subject: [Baren 15933] Re: Baren Digest V17 #1584 Date for Irvington, NY Firemens Benefit deadline --Middle of Jan.
