Are you talking about a "bokashi" sky, that is, with a gradation? Why not print this hanga-style, if so? (I think there are a few descriptions of bokashi printing in the Baren encyclopedia). If you do print it hanga-style, you probably need a stronger paper and one that is sized, like sized hosho paper. I don't print "oily" so I don't know what the oily solution is. have fun! To remove the cover of a ball bearing baren, you should fix all the balls with adhesive tape before unscrewing. michael David Bull wrote: > > > i purchased a ball bearing barren from the company that makes them several > > years ago. since then it has become gunked up and does not move as > > smoothly. could you please email me the proper way to clean the barren. > > they are very expensive and i am not interested in buying another, therefor > > i don't want to ruin it. can the screen be unscrewed from the backing with > > out the s.s. balls falling out ... > > This request was forwarded to Matsumura-san, and he sent in this little > note: > > To overhaul a bearing baren seems to be possible if you have one of the > models put together with screws. It is basicially the same as hange more pigment equals darker color. John of the furry press ------------------------------ End of Baren Digest V16 #1514 *****************************
