Hi Jean

Every once in awhile my computer goes a little beserk. It is called
"operator error". I am still trying to tame this beast and sometimes it gets
away from me. Sorry about that. Have had a few others mention my errors. If
I click on my REPLY button it reacts in putting out strange symbols, this
time I went to the address book and clicked on the Baren page. But I
appreciate that you let me know. Please do not hesitate to inform me if this
"monster" does it again.
When I read my own replys they are always ok. So I never know.

Hello all         i   believe as Josephine has stated  that  the Baren has
no desire to imply that the  exchange artists are  refused for any reason
except  space    not  quality of work
 and therefore we should not CALL  it  what it really is
   i appreciate Josephine reminding me   of that negeative connotation of
salon de refuse'      its a societal tendancy to sort of forget the REASON
(often negative) something was called this or that
  and carry on that name for ever  when actually it could  stand to be
positively RENAMED
and  as always     Maria continued the  bouncing ball
  with her on- the- mark historical commentary ..thank you

  so    how about calling it

Subject: [Baren 15169] coming out of lurkerville 

Since I signed up on the waiting list for the flora exchange last week, I am past due for introducing myself. I have painted with watercolor for about 25 years, did some intaglio in the 80's as well as dabbled in oil base relief off and on. I learned the
Japanese technique of woodblock printing from Noboru Sawai in 1995 in B.C. Canada, and in the next few years cut and printed some presentable images.  However, probably due mostly to marketability, most of my effort has been in painting lately. After
getting my first computer a few months ago and discovering the baren website, forum and all the links, I've begun cutting my first blocks in almost a year. I don't understand how you all have time to do all this computer stuff and still have time to make prints, but I thank you for all your input and inspiration, and I look forward to exchanging prints with you.
I understand that the salon de refuse is a second exchange of a theme and hope that if I don't go to the main list of exchange that there will be more who would
like to exchange flora.  Until next time, Carole
