These are first day pre-opening pics, so the colophons are not up, no title cards and some have even been moved

Julio, looks good, the second bottom one from the right has a broken link or
is linked to the wrong one. You son looks very impressive with that hammer

My many thanks to illustrator & barener John Amoss for his design and work
on the announcement cards that are
 part of this Baren exhibit. John's magic touch once again shines thru in
his wonderful art work. I have sent out cards to
about 1/2 the participants and the other 1/2 will go out on Tuesday....

A couple of things that keep coming up regarding the Barenmall.

Remember that Barenmall is just serving as a liaison between the vendors in
Japan and the customer. Most products are being shipped directly from Japan
with some exceptions.
Your tiny Nafuda prints (you get them when you purchase $40 or more) are
being sent from a different place than your orders. Ditto for the paper
catalogs and Yamaguchi Hosho paper. Don't worry about keeping it all
straight, we do and that's what matters! But just keep that in mind as you
may receive an "incomplete" order.

If, however, you have not received some items after about 10 days, do whine
a little. We are all human. Whine at me, please.

On an unrelated matter Las Vegas Art Museum has an interesting exhibit Asian
Art Now: 2001. I will go see it next week and report on any woodblock
apparitions.

Jean's comment is very valid. Too narrow will preclude many from
participating because of the limitations imposed.  How about taking Dean's
idea of art materials, and expanding it to the "essence, or spirit, of
making art" - the embrace of the materials, the image within the wood or
metal, the passion of the paper, etc.
