Lot of excellent suggestions! While on the subject of exchanges, the Baren exchange prints are now on display (5/23 - 7/3) at the Skokie Public Library. Skokie is a suburb of Chicago bordering just north of the city. While I was not able to display every print (as the case last year with exchanges #1-#4)...we do have a very large exhibit in place. I will have sometime this weekend an artist's list of all prints included in the show so that those interested can update your personal bios/cv. There is still time to get your "snake" card on display if you get it to me soon. A while back there was an ardent discussion on the forum relating to wether the pace of the exchanges and the purpose behind them was a positive force and wether it allowed the members a chance to improve their skills. I can tell you w/o any reservations that this group of prints (#5-#9) are outstanding. There is a marked degree of improvement in both overall technique and creativity. As always..... Cut ! Print ! thanks....Julio ------------------------------ From: b.patera@att.net Date: Fri, 25 May 2001 17:59:14 +0000 Subject: [Baren 14563] Re: Exchange #11 Really like this one for #11. Has so many possibilities. With "Children's Stories being my first choice for Exchange 11 and "Mysteries of the Sea" being second choice. ------------------------------ From: "Bea Gold" Date: Fri, 25 May 2001 16:35:49 -0700 Subject: [Baren 14565] Re: subject of next exchange - library exhibit Of course I'm keeping a separate folder for #11 concepts - when things settle down I'll list them and people can vote - How's that? So many interesting ideas. I just received a box full of paper catalogs from our supplier. Oh, oooops, one of them fell and broke open...oh my oh my oh my!!! These are beautiful papers! The catalogs are available in the Baren Mall so you can feel and taste these papers before ordering. Also, some help is needed here. We seem to be having some trouble with people forgetting to add the shipping charges. Is there some way we can make this feature more salient? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Why impose a choice of image on people? We are all better off with ideas like love, war, survival of the fittest, ten colors, diversity, close to the earth, stuff like that.
