Thanks so much I loved it a lot. I went to clean my plate and brayer, etc. had no salad oil or baby oil and dropped a bit of that nice spendy olive oil on the plate and wow it was clean. With that I jumped in the car and went to the nearest K-mart and bought baby oil. Now everything is sparkling clean with no fumes. I am delighted. I quit oil painting because of the turps. Now I know I will never quit printmaking, I use rubber gloves too , but no smell or fumes now either. this is so grand. I had a printmakers frustration day. lol this plate has been through everything. I have carved and looked and it has not worked and then I tried one last carve and had it! The composition was there, now for the paper. Being a unique plate I had to search for the right paper. Tried 3 and the last one finally worked. But it is a tissue thin paper and I have come to like soaking first or spritzing. Being so thin it tears easily and also is a challenge to drop on the block. What a day, but I am loving the prints, yeah for success, think I am ready for the glass of red wine to go with the salad oil now! That is the strangest thing I have ever heard, but hey-- to each his own!
