Dan, The best way to find one is to ask everyone you know and soon someone will know of one. I found mine out of Art Week in the Bay Area of Calif. about 10 years ago. There are quite a few presses here in Portland, so I will ask around if there are any for sale. Best to you and happy holidays! Barbara ------------------------------ From: "Daniel L. Most of my contacts are right here. dan dew > From: B Mason > The best way to find one is to ask everyone you know and soon someone > will know of one. > ------------------------------ From: brad Date: Mon, 18 Dec 2000 10:34:31 -0800 Subject: [Baren 12519] Re: Etching Press What about a new table top press from Patrick Designs? Also there are excellent art centers in St Pete and Dunnellin. Ask Jeanne I bet if she's over at Ringling so would put up a wanted card on the board. Next time I'm in ABQ I'll ask around and stick a card up over at Tamarind. Best of luck. Happy Holidays. JD Roehrig Capitan, NM From: Daniel L. The ones that were auctioned off were in various conditions and went typically from prices of $1800 to $4500. (the ones in the worst condition bringing the lower prices) There was even one new etching press that I saw coming up for auction but it was not the size that I was looking for. I also had a call from a manufacturer of etching presses asking if I was interested in buying a used one that they had taken in but had purchased a new Takach press by that time. Would suggest that you keep checking in on Ebay because they do up for auction occassionally (I have seen around six in the past year) and also leave your name with the suppliers in case they get one in or you could always buy a new one from Takach like I did--They did a great job on the press that they built for me. I had just about made up my mind to get one of their presses. But no one has been able to get an answer from them, so we presume they are out of business or out of the country - don't know which. Any recommendations on a table top that would handle up to 16x20" blocks? Linoleum or wood. Something fairly portable? Put labels in the header so that I know what it is your after. Its not as personal but it beats writing 50 odd addresses.
