Baren Digest Sunday, 3 December 2000 Volume 13 : Number 1233 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Vollmer/Yamaguchi Date: Sat, 2 Dec 2000 13:02:51 -0400 Subject: [Baren 12298] Challenges and Options Dear Naiomi, "Establishing a Baby-Safe Studio by Julia Ayres", Watercolor Magazine, probably October 2000, I don't have the cover, just tear sheets. Useful sites listed in the article are http://www.waterbasedinks.com (that's Akua Color) and http://communiites.msn.com/printmakinglinks (that is Julia Ayres who wrote the article). What I like about hanga woodcut is that it is non-toxic AND traditional with a long history, a challenge to learn and lots of options. Monoprint is great, but sort of mushy...no clear definitions or precedents. I like the specificity of working in a traditional form, more rules to play with. >April; could you please let me know the issue of >Watercolor Magazine in which your hanga woodcut print >appears? They probably get many inquiries about this kind of thing. They might even sell them there. Their URL is http://www.c-c-c.org/ Carol, you have a very large Chinatown in New York. Can't you get chops there? A little correction Your URL is wrong.... Should read http://www.beagold.com/ NOTE the period between www & beagold the http:// in front enables us lazy guys to double click and go there...... This might be an incentive for some to participate and/or those who choose to use it, a badge of honour, if you will. Eli Griggs Charlotte N.C.
