No, it won't help, but it is a good laugh. Graham, you will enjoy this one. Maria ps Apologies for the posting on the main forum, but we really need more people in the Baren-after-5, your friendly neighborhood printmaker's anything-goes hangout. Subscribe and let's have a Halloween party. <><><><><><><><><><><><> Maria Arango, Printmaker Las Vegas Nevada USA http://www.1000woodcuts.com maria@mariarango.com <><><><><><><><><><><><> ------------------------------ From: B Mason Date: Tue, 31 Oct 2000 08:20:22 -0800 Subject: [Baren 11911] art issues Maria, I went to this url, nothing. so I went to redpig.com and hit newsletter and again nothing. Thank you so much for considering the card exchanges. One thing I was happy about was including the dragons at the Skokie exhibit. The variety of ideas and techniques displayed was amazing. By displaying the large dragon display at children height....It also attracted many little ones to stop and wonder. Thanks...Julio ------------------------------ From: David Bull Date: Wed, 01 Nov 2000 08:13:45 +0900 Subject: [Baren 11917] Israel Exhibition ... Member Arye Saar in Israel has sent in an update on his progress on the 4th International Exhibition of Woodblock prints by [Baren] Members. With the framing and most of the preparation already wrapped up, he is expecting that the show will be up and running around November 20th. We have a few photos of the location, and they can now be seen on the Events & Activities section of the [Baren] website. http://woodblock.com ... and click on Events & Activities. We are going to have to organize a letter-writing campaign to have group members send 'thank you' notes to the two companies in Israel who are sponsoring this show. Details will follow later! Thanks for this Arye! Dave Bull ------------------------------ From: Julio.Rodriguez@walgreens.com Date: Tue, 31 Oct 2000 16:02:31 -0600 Subject: [Baren 11918] Re: Beit Gavriel, Kyoto and Ohio ! Maria writes: " This will be our fourth exhibit as a group, correct? NY, Skokie, Kampala, and now Israel. Was there a Tokyo exhibit as well in the early Baren days?..." Yes, but in Kyoto, Japan. The Third Kyoto International Woodprint Association's (KIWA) exhibition was held in June of 1999. Thanks to organizer (and exchange #1 participant) Richard Steiner, the 28 prints from Baren's very first exchange were exhibited. Barener April Vollmer won one of the top prizes. Gayle Wohlken' show at the Kent State University's Geauga County campus is currently exhibiting our prints from Exchange #6 thru the month of October. Gayle graciously shared the space for her very own Vampyr Series Exhibition to bring our exchange #6 prints to the public eye. How is it going Gayle ? Go here to see Gayle at the show... http://barenforum.org/messageboard/guestbook.html I am putting together a web page with links to all our past exhibits which will soon appear on Baren's Exchange page.
