I like your images very much and I especially like the "Why I Dew" explanation. One doesn't have to be Christian to understand it and appreciate it. I love hanga SO MUCH! Recently my sister-in-law (who is expecting her first baby on Nov. 2--the first baby that will make my parents into grandparents and me into an aunt for the first time) wrote me and asked if I'd be interested in designing the birth announcements... She asked about my doing a drawing or lithograph portrait of the baby, but I immediately suggested that I use hanga to print original birth announcements for everyone on her mailing list. :) Just one more thing to be excited about! Maybe soon I will get to do more than three colors... Is it true that you did the Frogman's print as a reductive print (or was it some cool two-block reductive thing that you came up with), April? I'd love to try reductive hanga sometime, but isn't the time window for such a thing three day days or less? It's possible to dry the prints and then remoisten them and print some more colors, too, isn't it? Love <3 & Lint * ! Now, wouldn't it be fun to get a whole bunch of Baren-folk to go and meet there and have a great time? Let's start planning now. The conference fee is very reasonable and we can get rooms together to save that preciousss$$$" I'm in Maria. All I need is someone to donate the return air tickets and pay for the accomodation. I think there's a few dollars spending money in the bottom of the piggy bank... I've got suitcase, sketchbook and camera. Maybe if I write Saint Nick a nice letter *sigh* but we dont have a chimney so how can I send him the note by burning it in the fire? ANd the poor bugger gets so hot in his fur-lined suit when he visits us in mudsummer 30+ degrees celcius temperatures. Not to mention the hassle he has finding all the kids at the beach. Gordon was diagnosed with colon cancer about a year ago and was doing pretty well when his heart started giving him trouble. After successful surgery about 10 days ago, he contracted pneumonia and even though his spirit was stronger than anyone I have ever known, his poor body just gave out. We will miss him terribly. Please pass this sad announcement on to any who know him. for me it is like losing a much loved adopted grandfather and I am sure there are many people who feel just as I do. Best to you all, Barbara Mason ------------------------------ End of Baren Digest V13 #1197 *****************************
