Gayle and her husband, (she is just as delightful in person) Kent, JR and John from Victoria. All original five were back this year, John Amoss, Greg Robison, Marco Flavio Marinucci and Wanda and yours truly. Meeting Dave was a treat and we watched him like a hawk, hoping some tips would rub off. We learned a lot from both Dave and Graham and had a good time doing so. We worked long hours, too long for me and both Wanda and I are really tired. Graham is probably exhausted as well but Dave never seems to run out of energy. We tried the truly expensive paper and of course loved it. We are looking for some that is almost as good and half as much money. At $15 US a sheet it is real hard to make a mistake and you know how easy it is to make one. We cried every time we did, as it cost us $5. We thought it might make us more careful, but alas, our inexperience showed up and we wasted several. Really nice to print on such good paper, we could become addicted! Hi folks, Back from Graham's and my brain is so stuffed full with information that I can hardly contain it all. I'm busily making a jillion notes to try and retain it all for the next woodcut. For those of you who tuned into Graham & David's updates - I had to abandon the orchid block so I could get some time in on fine tuning the printing part. Good thing I brought those extra (already carved) blocks! I will put up a pic of the orchid print when it's finished. I have carved the key block & pasted up the other 3 color blocks. Now to get carving! The weather was wonderful - although it did get just a tad warm a few times. Lots of gorgeous scenery around Schwartz' Bay - and the ferry rides showed us even more great scenes. Getting a chance to see our "family" again was wonderful. And I've added several more to that list. There were some beautiful block prints being made. So much talent in one busy studio. Meeting David (in real time - not virtual) was a real highlight of this trip. Just sitting and watching him print is a delightful way to learn. I just finished posting the digests for the week to the archives. Some interesting posts while we were away. Matt, good to see the results of your workshop. 3 days? Yikes! Must be some very talented people in NH! Cut, print! Back to normal time.......
