Message posted by: Sarah Hi all, I'm a little breathless, a lot of stuff has been happening, I got a call from the show I told you folks about at SVM in Baton rouge & they sold a print, are giving me an award for another print, and have someone interested in looking at a bunch of my work. Anyway, just to make my day even more fun, I received my dragons from the U. of Oregon exchange (I'm know some of you others did this), lots of great, fun, interesting stuff & some familiar masterpiece dragons too :) now for my editioning question, I was told by a friend of mine who was a printmaking major at Rutgers that it would be OK to mark a series of hand-tinted woodblock prints as E:V:1/50, E:V:2/50, etc, as the keyblock is printed but the image is tinted by hand and therefore differs from print to print, also the paper is not all the same. What do you other knowledgeable folks out there think? This sounded good to me but I wanted to make sure that there wasn't some crazy "rule" out there somewhere that would make this method "wrong" etc as I am still learning about this editioning matter. I know some of you don't like the handtinting idea, but this is what suits this particular print and remember that the early Japanese woodblock prints used this method :) Thanks all, ------------------------------ End of Baren Digest V10 #944 ****************************
