Thanks for sharing your website. I have been wandering around the site having a look at the work and would like to hear more about the mosaics. We can pretend they are woodblocks. Some comments about website design. I missed the thumbnail images terribly. I much prefer to scan through little images that give me an idea what the pic will look like, rather than just a title. The image sizes could be much smaller and still be effective. Use jpeg at maximum compression, dpi at 72 and preset the image sizes. It would be better if you split that 200+K image on the home page into smaller images. Remember that distance can affect speed. And perhaps you could ask someone to help with your english. Not that I'm an expert mind you, I'm finding lots of little faults in mine own site as I rebuild it.. Must be synchronicity (sp?). In the same batch of mails today got an e-mail from another swiss gentleman asking for a link to his printmaking site. Do you know of this man's work? It gives a group a sense of quality and legitimacy to know that all these exchanges will be preserved in a Museum for posterity. My extra prints are on the way, Barbara! On another note, the first issue of our newsletter, Baren-suji, is coming right along. I'm still looking for workshops and other opportunities from Baren members, especially those teaching workshops this summer. Matt? Anyone else? Also for sale or swap items that you may have hanging around? Or items you would like to purchase? If you were going to contribute and miss the deadline (I hate that word!) March 17th, please send stuff late anyway because we will have quarterly issues and plenty of chances for everyone to contribute. Any other items of interest to all, just send them in! We know it is extremely difficult to send money from abroad, and that it costs money to do so. Blast those customs all over! Anyway, a viable although slightly risky solution is to send cash with your prints. One more tiiiiimmmme!!! And it just goes to show you, when I left in 1974 the peseta and the penny were just about even. Woopsie, we're in Baren, aren't we. Sorry 'bout dat, folks. I'll go over to the bar again, now that Josephine has turned it into a health club it reminds me of my old job...brings a tear to my eye...sniff...oh, never mind, that's that hedgehog running around, poked me right in the eyeball, come'ere you! Well, in a feeble attempt to make this into a serious Baren post (too late?), let me remind everyone that the Baren-after-5 list is open to the public and is sure to satisfy your internet social thirst. And there, of couse, is where posts such as THIS ONE belong. Bye now!
