Almost any subject matter can be interpretted as Dave suggested "One man's meat is another man's poison", or "There is no accounting for taste", etc and the two examples he gave us were, I think, a pizza or a block of units where although they are all linked they have their own individual differences. What about subjects like cars, wealth, clothes, etc? My woodblock is finished and will be in the post before the end of February with its accompanying explanation. I have chosen Horse Racing - The Sport of Kings mainly because of its aspects of Glamour, Greed and Gaming...it has its "colourful" good side and it also has its "dark" side of gambling, etc.. I would have loved to have done it in colour and black and white, but I have divided my block so that my image depicts the "bright" side and the "darker" side. Colour would have been an added bonus, but it is so long since I have done any waterbased woodblocks. I have got one on the drawing board for one of my The Sacred Trees. Has this helped you at all? But don't panic, Cheers, Jan ------------------------------ End of Baren Digest V10 #907 ****************************
