Anyway If one of the bareners get the possibility to stay there, it would be easy to meet. Lake Balaton is only about 2 and 1/2 hour by car. SO, lets wait and see.... michael ------------------------------ From: =?iso-8859-1?q?dimitris=20grammatikopulos?= Date: Sat, 22 Jan 2000 15:50:54 -0800 (PST) Subject: [Baren 7875] What to do when sleepless... Hello there, Baren world! working on the Tree project, I came across a small problem of symbols. So, I thought I'd share it with you, hoping you'd be off bed at 02.00 am... Here's the question: Considering the Tree to symbolize Intelligence Seeking Knowledge and the Curtain to be a symbol for what we are affraid to know, what could a Window stand for? No, I haven't been drinking,no funny stuff,no dilutant bottle left open,no bad-movie-overload 8-) I'd appreciate any suggestions, regards, Dimitris ===== Dimitris Grammatikopulos Th. No, no, no, no, no, no, no,......yes I'm a little punchy too....Good luck with whatever you're doing Dimitris. I searched the house and eventually found my symbol dictionary (plus a lot of other stuff I had lost, thanks) nothing on windows there either. My Daughter Tenar had left a dream dictionary here. It had stuff on looking in the window is introspection, looking out is the opposite, stuff like that. Climbing out the window is running away. All really obvious stuff. All I can think of is how the two dimensional artwork is seen to be a metaphor for a window etc etc. Magritte's little puns. What _are_ you doing? Dont start carving till we settle the paper size question. To me, a window would symbolize being cut off physically from whatever is on the other side of the window. Something un-attainable or removed from the viewer. The tree as knowledge? Hmmm... A curtain as things we are afraid to know? So brushing the curtain aside would mean acceptance of the things we are afraid to know? By the way, Dimitris, I received the dragons on Friday - beautiful classic beasts. Have not delivered the 2nd one to it's recipient yet. Keeping it as a surprize! Not late here, but a nice puzzle to ponder. Windows = PC = Bill Gates = lots of $ =???? As for carving,I haven't started anything but preliminary sketches in Pen-ink and aquarelle,so thanks for the warning too! Now,another question to Baren: would anybody mind if I send everybody my little dragon? This would make me feel happy and even happier if that would not oblige anyone to send something in exchange. After all, I wasn't participating in the exchange! regards, imitris > > What _are_ you doing? > > Dont start carving till we settle the paper size question. > > Josephine > ===== Dimitris Grammatikopulos Th.
