I am stuck in bed for a while using a CPM (constant passive motion machine) I don't have my site on the Baren because it is not finished but maybe I should. How about it Dave? The address is beagold.com. Welcome Dutch - where do you live in LA? Sounds like the Valley - We're in Silverlake. We have a large group of Bareners here in Los Angeles area now. Maybe we can have a get together when I'm up and about again. I want in on Exchange #5 - didn't when in the shared work collaboration - but common theme that we can interpret our on way sounds good to me. Dave, Your new work is so beautiful! Love being able to get so close to the gold flecks. Utomaro is my favorite - his lines are so simple and fluid. Anyone know the book - The making of a japanese print by Reiko Chiba - haurunobu's "heron maid" ? I have a copy that's been standing on my kitchen shelf so I can look at it every once in a while since 1965. My kids loved it so it's a little dirty but beautiful. I've been trying to find one on the internet but it's out of print and no one has responded yet. I can copy it for the Encyclopedia if people want - let me know, Dave. Great to be back! Stanley, the owner of a tool company. Stanley Tools? No. It's a place called Hiraide America, and seems to have a zillion different types of Japanese tools. I don't know if anybody has posted this info before, but they have a web site at: http://www.japanesetools.com *** Bea asked: > I don't have my site on the Baren because it is not > finished but maybe I should. How about it Dave? Well, you're in 'Who is Baren', and your site is linked from the 'Members' Web Sites' page ... and, re the 'Heron Maid' booklet: > I can copy it for the Encyclopedia if people want - > let me know, Dave. I have a copy here Bea, and it's in the pile waiting for the girls to work on next time they're here ... *** Maria posted a new link on the Message Board - to save you time going over there to look it up, I'll repeat it here: http://www.printmakingstudio.com/studionotes/monster/monstercut.html Just looking at the name of the file should whet your interest, I think! At that time said there would be a little surprise to be advised. Well we can now tell all...... David Bull will be attending Boot Camp. He will be in BC at a family reunion at that time and so is going to participate. He does not want to teach but to do some of his own work and is more than willing to answer questions and be involved with the group. We have planned that I will be directing things asking questions and he will answer them. Not a bad arrangements. Fabulous learning situation I would think. We have have a one bed and a cot left in a shared room at the B&B And 4 spaces left in the workshop area. If more want rooms we will have to find other B&Bs to accommodate. We have one person Tenting. Another non resident from Victoria. Marnie and Graham 11435 Hawthorne Pl., Sidney, BC.
