In book restoration we use a paper that is just called repair tissue, its Japanese and has very long fibers so it is strong and when used to repair a torn page it is invisible. It is 8 gsm dose this sound like it's the same thing as gampi. This seems like an important exchange where we will be revealing ourselves to each other in our unique ways (plastic raincoat aside--wait, that didn't come out right; I meant despite the raincoat jokes, we'd like to see your view of you). I did upgrade my computerandit'ssomuchfasternow, can you tell? And upgrading is so much fun...I will save my stories so Graham doesn't make fun of my PC. Speaking for Vegas only, Sprint (cabling/phone company) had a line down all weekend so some network stuff got delayed; perhaps lost in the nebula forever more. I have one alternate for Exchange #4, Sylvia Taylor has gracefully accepted the task. I have asked someone else to fill in and will keep everyone updated. Apologies about the slight irritation in my last post. As for a general comment in the Exchanges, I think the way Dave has cleverly set the system of signing up, anyone can participate once a year or once every six years or every time. It's a good system. Julio, Julio, Julio, you had me going for only a second, very funny. We are of course talking about the 8'x4' exchange, the designed plywood is being delivered to your house tomorrow and I expect it carved and ready to print next week. And don't miss a line! All of the posts I saw seemed to be in favor of the smaller sized prints. I would like to at least go on record as saying that I generally prefer to work larger, so the small prints are more of a challenge for me. Not that I mind that, of course, but I vote for continuing to vary the size of each exchange. And just to be obnoxious, I would like to point out that I finished my prints for exchange #4 today. - --Pete ------------------------------ End of Baren Digest V9 #767 ***************************
