It's at: http://users.lanminds.com/~jeaneger/kento/index.html Your criticisms and suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Jean, The way you have shown the kento positions means that you carve and print upside down. Is there a reason for doing it that way? I would be very awkward method. The normal is to have the kento marks on the bottom and the border around to top and right hand edge is only about 1/8 " Tracing the image down on the block may be ok for some kinds of images and results where spontaneity and looseness is the objective. If accuracy is paramount then, it is best to go with my method of Xerox copy and with solvents desolve the tone. This was discussed at length on the Baren some time ago. If any body wants this I will post it to them. The method that David has suggested and is posted on the Baren Encyclopedia at: http://www.woodblock.com/encyclopedia/entries/019_01/019_01_frame.html is excellent for accuracy. My computer is down, so I am very quiet lately but am reading the postings at work a day or so late. If you contact Laird Plastics they may donate the plexi, they are a plastics distributor and have donated stuff here in Portland. It probably helped that my company is a customer, but that really shouldn't matter. They like publicity, just talk to the manager and beg, I find begging works well. Anything else we can do to help? ------------------------------ From: "Jeanne N. Chase" Date: Mon, 18 Oct 1999 17:02:28 -0400 Subject: [Baren 6309] Re: Registration Jean Done very well. What could be clearer? I printed it out for future reference. Isn't the kento in the lower right corner as in Dave's lesson? http://woodblock.com/encyclopedia/entries/000_09/000_09_frame.html. Thank you for a very graphic description. And also this one was interesting too http://www.arthistory.sbc.edu/imageswomen/ perhaps we should start a site of the day column? Still havent got on that press yet. I was wondering how many people are on Baren?
