I'll let you know. The more of us that can be there the more fun it will be. Listening to the news about Graham's workshop makes me want to be there. It really sounds great. April: Did you find a baren at New York Central??? I will looki forward to any of the postings from the workshop! I thought I'd try this as I may be writing to you from Tennessee from a library there. It seems my mom fell again and may have broken some ribs. She is in the E. R. now and I think we'll be going back to Tennessee tomorrow. John, I'm bringing the prints for Exchange #2 with me and will mail them from there. Everyone have a blast at the workshop! Maria ------------------------------ From: Graham Scholes Date: Mon, 21 Jun 1999 20:48:39 -0700 Subject: [Baren 4731] Workshop The folks are out to lunch....ops a little slip....dinner and Marnie and I are kinda getting our second wind after supper. We still have not be successful in getting the software to work for the Toshiba PDR-M1 digital camera that Wanda bought to the workshop. Have been on to the support line at Toshiba, who said they would be back to me in an hour. That was 5 hours ago. We can only hope. There has been some interesting photos taken and it would be ashame that they could not be uploaded to my computer and put on a new web site page I have designed. Just maybe someone out there has a Toshiba that uses the "Picture Shuttle" software that we believe is the cause of the problem. If you have.... e-mail it to me at gscholes@home.com The second day has been full steam ahead..... In the case of Marco- who will be starting to print a 4 colour print tomorrow. You may recall his heads with very bold and carving. It has been a day of image creating, transfer and carving for everybody else. Each are progressing very nicely and each at there own pace. John Amos- is moving slowly but somehow think he will win.......with his turtle image Wanda Roberston- is coming up roses.....with her flower image, Barbara Mason- is down to earth....with her organic imagery Greg Robison- is seeing the light.... or will... with the garden light image. Hopefully we can get this damn camera working. Well this is the best I am ...... since I am nearly down to my knee caps I will leave with this Graham ------------------------------ From: Date: Tue, 22 Jun 1999 06:10:04 -0400 (EDT) Subject: [Baren 4732] Terrific prints! This is from Ray H in Vermont. Andrea Rich--I was in Seattle for an afternoon last saturday and when finished with getting my 90 year old aunt home from the emergency room after she had fallen while walking back from the store (she should be fine; bruised & a bit alarmed) I stepped into the Frye Museum. They were about to close but I rushed through an exhibit called "Alaska's Copper River Delta"--sponsored by a Dutch foundation, I believe, that brought a number of artists to the delta to produce art. Andrea! How wonderful your prints in that exhibit are! From the black on white single blocks to the multicolored blocks--very impressive technically, very impressive emotionally! Those of you slaving away at the workshop, if you have time while passing back through Seattle stop at the Frye--it's a bit of a walk uphill from the center of town--or, if you're driving, there's often free parking (and paid parking) in the area. Andrea's prints are certainly worth seeking out. Hope your camera works soon, Graham! Sounds like you're all having a great time.
