Thank's Daniel, and you are right. On graphic art, I try to do my work just in classic method. It is important, especially when everybody were going to modern or post-modern taste. As anybody know, in post-modern scene anything become simulacras, anything become artificial things. In that moment, I think, I need to go back to the simple thing and something that able to expess the emotion directly: woodcut! As you know, on woodcut, our emotion, our energy and muscles, our sweat, and the feel of knife when it is cutting the block; incredible. Hi Jack, Thank's for your coming and your comments. Thank you for your help to Jeanne, that's mean a help for me too about how to operating my site. What's about your German heritage? Would you like to give me some information about that? Jeanne wrote: >Just came from your Web Site. Very dramatic! Dear Jeanne, Thank's for your coming to my site and thank's so much for your comments. About "i did not see any information on you or your philosophy," because is hard for me to write in English, here I re-write my text that I sent to Daniel: On graphic art, I try to do my work just in classic method. But, please tell the name of your friend, maybe I know her/him. Is she/he an artist? Dear Graham, Thank so much for all your comments. About "Some word from one of our sponsors," they pay nothing, that's automatically arose by geocities. I don't know how to manage it, or that's just the risk when we are using a free service for a website. And about ......the broken of work4.html; I have repaired already. Thank's for your note and your attention. Regards, Herry Dim ------------------------------ From: Graham Scholes Date: Sun, 11 Apr 1999 21:27:54 -0700 Subject: [Baren 3957] Show udate. I'm not sure that I have passed on the info re an up date in the exhibition at the Victoria Art Gallery. Last week the curator phoned in a panic about a problem, which was, they had the opportunity to get an important exhibition from the National Gallery .....Ottawa. The timing was when my show was scheduled. The asked if they could put it back a month to July 9th. and offered to keep the exhibition up until Sept 26th. for a total of 80 days. Seemed like a good trade off to me. I don't think I had much choice but it was nice to be asked before being bumped. I know the folks coming to the workshop won't see the show however I could arrange for us to look at some of the Gallery's permanent collection on an afternoon. We can discuss this. I am fourth generation German American, with German on both sides of my family all the way back, something maybe a little unusual in this melting pot country of ours. I finally broke that line by marrying a third generation Japanese wife. Your woodblocks have to me the look of German expressionist woodcuts, and the feel of German angst.Jack Reisland ------------------------------ End of Baren Digest V7 #523 ***************************
