So how come I have five times more messages from you than anyone else? :-) I just did a quick calculation (and hey, I'm a finance guy. Calculations is what I do), and anyway, I figure you type at about 450 words a minute. (I rounding from 447.66 -- as you know from my contributions about wood drying, that's just the way my mind works...). I don't know about you guys, but I'm going to remember Ray on Secretary's Day, since he types faster than anybody who's ever worked for me. >I can think of one other reason. The letterpress people know this, but... Yikes! This is baren! This kinda stuff is for BA5! And to keep everything straight, I do not type that fast. The last time I checked it was just 285 per minutes. >But never print the woodblock at the same time as the type. The letterpress >people know this, but... And I will learn all of these little secrets when I talk a letterpress workshop this summer. But please tell me more. Like what kind of first letterpress should I buy and where. >Yikes! This is baren! This kinda stuff is for BA5! Very perceptive. We should continue this "on the other side". We don't want to upset these techies. :-)) Cheers Ray ------------------------------ From: Mariten@aol.com Date: Thu, 18 Feb 1999 23:30:20 EST Subject: [Baren 3109] Re: rust proof I do hates to contradict everyone, but the perfect place to store anything so it will not rust is in a single digit humidity climate. Let me think, do I know a place? Do I? Oh yes, there is a studio in Las Mucho-Dry-Vegas, NV which will preserve absolutely rust-free any presses, tools, extra cherry wood you want naturally dried, etc etc etc. Just feel free to ship away. I will get back to you soon on this one, especially since I have always liked the possibilities of alternate mountings.
