The problem is that I usually require 7 to 10 plates so two are a miss fit. The artist books you have made look most interesting. They looked to have a lot of tactile qualities. Would luv to run them through my fingers. Great for printing big solid areas - probably best to use a barrier paper of some kind in between the print paper & the baren, as it will tear thinner Japanese paper - Regards, Sarah ------------------------------ From: Cucamongie@aol.com Date: Thu, 11 Feb 1999 14:02:11 EST Subject: [Baren 3037] Re: Shireen's work > I second Jeanne's motion-that you have a beautiful web site with >compelling art works. Shireen, I checked out your web page. Great stuff! Your links were most helpful. I have made several artist books but with mediums other than woodcut. I'll look forward to seeing some of your prints that your are currently working on for a book. Claire Van Vliet has an exhibit at the gallery at Bates College here in Maine. that I am looking forward to seeing. It is black and white landscape prints in this show.....wish they were showing some of her books. Enjoy the Baren........ I have studied with them and they're very good, as well as being very nice folks - call Manhattan Graphics to find out the exact dates if you're interested. Also, April is teaching a two-day workshop at Dieu Donne paper mill in New York in March - and of course she's great!
