I had drawn a line down the left side of the L-shaped board and used removable tape to hold the paper in place. The idea of rulers appeals to me. Do you get perfect registration? A writer, I could never be!! I am printing a new print for the first time in this fashion and so far it has worked beautifully. I have pulled three colors so far and they have all been correct. What is especially good about this technique is that I believe if I wanted to pull a smaller print with a smaller border. All I would have to do is to place another strip on the L shape and put double stick tape on it. The next print {for the Baren exchange will be done like this , with the additional strip. I think it will work. I used to use tape too but THIS method "works for me1" Let me know how you do. I guess we will be pulling lots of prints, since the exchange is now 29. I will pull an extra 10. Just in case !!!! Jeanne ------------------------------ From: Elisa Flynn Date: Wed, 02 Sep 1998 18:59:39 -0500 Subject: [Baren 1506] Re: getting institutionalized ... How about the possibility of showing the Baren portfolio in its entirety in a gallery? I'm a member of a small gallery in Danbury, CT, and I was thinking that this could be a great show suggestion (I'm a member of a cooperative, so I would have to get the others' input.) I could use my set to show, and since I could not possibly afford to frame them all, mount them behind glass only. How would everyone feel about that as a future possibility? Hi Andrea and All When I get back home I will contact you and all who ask about the plywood. I will hopefully have all the details with my visit to Ontario. And I'd love him to get me $100 of that Canadian basswood too! And shina/bass/linden is SOFTER than poplar, and MUCH SOFTER than cherry. I never saw cherry plywood, must look for it...however, I will get it wet...some veneers will peel off. James: love that list..I am excited to see the work! Great response! A bit curious about why Ray's response was so adamantly against it. Why not simply put the portfolio in the Baren Gallery for all to see? Gary Luedtke ------------------------------ From: "Michelle D. I'm a little concerned about the prints being right up against glass, but perhaps that problem can be solved.
