To make pink, one simply adds water ... never white. Sound like me when I taught watercolour in hundreds of places across Canada. (It was a way of surviving in the Art world). I use to put it very directly.....white pigment in transparent watercolour is for amateurs. I had quite a reputation and some of the heavies who used it were annoyed with me. I have the same feeling about woodblock printmaking. Having said that I did use white in the piece East Point for purposes of creating a ghost like (chalky) appearance of a lighthouse tower. It could not have been done any other way. So Gayle if you are endeavouring to get a special effect....use it. If you are using is as a crutch, don't. Just my 1/2 cent worth. Please ... I'm not such an unfriendly ogre as all that! Don't over-react to that simple request I made a couple of weeks ago to keep things in balance ... (And besides, wasn't it _me_ who started talking about such cameras?) Speaking of which, I made up a small page of sample shots from that new Sony camera, for anyone who is trying to decide if it might be suitable for them ... http://www.woodblock.com/temporary/mavica_demo.html Dave P.S.
