My recollection is that there is a traditional Chineese woodblock technique where paintings are replicated by cutting out each brushmark as a tiny separate piece of wood and positioning these tiny *blocks* on a table surface with sticky melted wax. The paper for the run is nailed to the edge of the table to one side of the print area. Each sheet is lowered into a narrow slot parallel and close to that edge where it is fastned to get it out of the way of the next sheet to be printed while leaving it still fixed to the edge for registration of further impressions. The inking is done in the conventional waterbased manner by brushing each little ellement seperatly. ~dan ------------------------------ End of Baren Digest V2 #89 **************************
